Eco-friendly NBA uniforms

Beginning this season all 30 NBA teams will wear new uniforms that are more lighter, fast-drying and even environmental friendly.

The NBA and Adidas collaborated to come up with advancements in the new Revolution 30 uniform system expected to enhance players' performance.

The new jerseys are not only slightly tighter and more trim-tailored than the last edition, but are also made of 30 percent lighter material.

As a result, a player’s natural movements are optimized due to reduced uniform weight according to the NBA.

Front and back numbers are now made of breathable mesh as compared to dense material used in the past.

With the use of Adidas CLIMACOOL fabrics, the new uniforms dry twice as fast as previous NBA uniforms.

Developers incorporated the Adidas Formotion technology, designed to reduce seams and decrease the friction resulting from contact between the garment and the player’s skin.

It will mark the first time a league will use environmentally friendly uniforms on a full-time basis.

The jerseys are made from 60 percent recycled materials.

Several features of the new uniforms were tested in the All-Star Game last season.
