Can drinking good healthy water help us enjoy better health?

Isn’t it a strange paradox - much of the developing world is suffering from diseases due to not having access to clean healthy water. Yet the developed world population is suffering from a plague of modern diseases extensively contributed to by their failure to drink adequate amounts of clean healthy water. They have been brainwashed to believe that they can drink any fluid and it will meet the body’s hydration needs. Unfortunately that is not the case.

Dehydration is implicated in many if not all of our modern diseases. For many years it was believed that water was just a solvent to carry nutrients and was just filling the spaces between the solid matter in our body. However leading scientists and some doctors are beginning to realise that its role is much more extensive and much more important.

Leading Medical Doctor F Batmanghelidj, best known for his book ‘Your bodies many cries for water’ said in his book Water & Salt that the prime conditions caused by persistent dehydration are:
1. Asthma
2. Allergies
3. Hypertension
4. Constipation
5. Type 2 diabetes
6. Auto immune disorders

He also listed a number of the indications of local dehydration in the body which are due to acid build up within the cells. These were heartburn, dyspeptic pain, anginal pain, lower back pain, rheumatoid joint pains, migraine headaches, colitis pain, fibromyalgic pains, bulimia and morning sickness during pregnancy.

Drinking plenty of good healthy water can have a profound effect on health, sadly many people believe it is too simplistic, preferring to live a life of pain and debility rather than drink plenty of good healthy water.

So what is healthy water?

Although tap water in the UK meets the definition of safe drinking water in terms of WHO standards, many people would question whether it is really life enhancing healthy water. As a consequence an increasing minority choose to filter the water to remove chlorine, hardness and other toxins. However that does not necessarily make this filtered water healthy. Others prefer to use bottled water, but its benefits are also questionable and the adverse environmental impact is significant.

In the Far East water has much greater importance than in the western world. Leading Korean Water Expert Professor Won H Kim says that good healthy water should have several properties. It should...
1. be free of all contaminants harmful to the human body.
2. have an appropriate amount of minerals required by the human body.
3. be alkaline.
4. be abundant in hexagonal structured water.
5. be capable of eliminating harmful reactive oxygen species (free radicals).
6. have good energy.

As a consequence of their pursuit of healthy water they have developed lots of different technological solutions to provide good healthy water. In particular they have developed different types of bioceramic materials using natural minerals to enhance water’s life giving properties.

Bioceramics in water filtration - The Biocera alkaline antioxidant filter jug.

One of the leading companies in this field, Biocera has developed a range of bioceramic materials from natural minerals and incorporated them in different water filtration systems. The simplest in operation although extremely effective is a jug filter which uses bioceramics natural minerals in the cartridge in addition to activated carbon. This new approach to bioceramics in water filtration has brought alkaline ionized water, within the financial reach of everyone. It fulfils the criteria for good healthy life enhancing water. Most people are unaware that most traditional filter jugs leave the water acidic - which is fine if their priority is to stop your kettle furring up - but not the best for their health.

Biocera products are distributed in the UK by Water for Health Ltd, the specialist suppliers of alkaline water products and products to promote better body acid alkaline balance. Roddy MacDonald, MD of Water for Health says ‘We are very pleased with the feedback we are getting on the Biocera Alkaline Antioxidant Jug Filter since we introduced it to the UK in 2009. Most people comment that the water tastes much nicer and is smoother to drink. This is due to the restructuring of the water molecules. Clients are telling us that they are feeling more energised, overweight clients are talking of weight loss, diabetics are saying they are getting better blood sugar control with reduction in medication requirement and cancer patients are saying that they are coming through treatments much better’.

Since our body is typically 70% water it makes sense to keep our body water content replenished with good healthy water. The Biocera Alkaline Antioxidant Jug Filter gives everyone a very cost effective solution to keep hydrated with the many benefits that brings. To many people drinking water is too simplistic - to others it just makes plain common sense.
